There’s no excuse! You have an appointment next Wednesday June 1st with TVE and Masterchef. The fashion cooking program will show Salamanca on 20 April.
Pepe Rodriguez, Samantha Vallejo-Najera, Jordi Cruz and presenter Eva González amused the city center with the staging and filming. An intense day where contestants had to test their knowledge of pastry and prepare typical dishes of Salamanca: Salamanca rackets, hornazo, Jesuits cakes (cakes filled pastry cream), bread, perrunillas, moritos cream, maimón buns or bizcochetas .
The goal of each team was to sell as many of these products in 1 hour and a half in three patisseries from central Salamanca: La Tahona Delicatessen, La Madrileña and Industrial Obrador.
It is not the first time that Salamanca is chosen as the setting for the adventures of Masterchef contestants, since the TVE crew already chose a farm at Salamanca’s countryside as stage.
We won’t miss it at Salamanca Suite Studios. Why not while watching the program try to bake one of those mouthwatering deli? Here you have the recipe for the typical moritos cream.
Ingredients for a dozen moritos:
- 5 eggs
- 250 ml olive oil
- 1/4 flour
- 1/4 sugar
- 1/2 on yeast
- Zest of one lemon
Start assemble the egg whites with sugar. Add yolks and oil slowly while still whisking. Once you get a smooth paste, add the lemon zest, flour and yeast. Mix everything and fill the ramekins. It only remains to put in the oven for 10 minutes between 180C and 200C. If you like it specially sweet, you can add a bit of sugar on top before placing them in the oven to make it a toast top sweet layer.
