Salamanca is a city with great tradition in the sport and has consolidated as the San Silvestre race Salmantina that next December will reach its XXXIII edition. But where do salmantinos go training? We will reveal the best places to go running in Salamanca:

  1. Free access and extended opening hours, the preferred training location is the Salas Bajas university complex, located near the banks of the river Tormes. Circuit has a continuous run of about 1,286 m. in length, with seven stations with varied exercises and a running track with a 300- meter running lane and a 100 meter one. Another favorite green area by runners is the Huerta Otea Botanical Park. While walking the shaded ground circuit that follows the path of the river, runners can appreciate more than 60 plant species that make up the botanical park.
  1. And for those who wish to practice uneven series, the perfect site is the Park of the Jesuits. In addition, the place also has Biosalud exercise machines which may be practiced before or after running.
  1. Finally, if you wish to take part in popular races, you will find numerous options in Salamanca. Next ones wil be:  On  June 12th, the Urban Mille Barrio Oeste, celebrating the feast of San Juan de Sahagún, patron of Salamanca.  On June 24th the VI Night Race “Salamanca a tope” that allows runners to enjoy the most emblematic places of the city from a different perspective, under the moonlight.
