Already a year, we are counting the hours. From next Wednesday 7 to Thursday 15, Salamanca will be on its big festival week in honor of Santa María de la Vega. Do you want to know the program of activities this year? Will leave you speechless!
A few months ago we learnt about the author of the poster for this year, José Fuentes, professor of drawing and engraving at the School of Fine Arts of the University of Salamanca, a play based on graven multiple image. However, the official programme hasn’t been announced until a few days ago. Thirty one groups will be performing this year, eleven more than last year, from which nine are salmantinos.
On Wednesday September 7, after the Fireworks, Fangoria will kick off with a concert in Plaza Mayor. Macaco will follow on Thursday 8th, with salmantino group El Niño Glue, opening the evening show. On Friday 9th, Plaza Mayor will host the Celtic Night, with two performances: the Scottish Capercaillie and the Andalusian Rare Folk. The 80’s Night will be on Saturday, with performances by Duncan Dhu y Danza Invisible. Closing the weekend music events, the Indie Night, with three groups: Second, Leon Benavente and Salamanca Pointless. For lovers of soul music, on Monday, Aurora & The Betrayers, Anaut groups and local The Coy Kois will be encouraging the Plaza Mayor. Night Rock arrive on Tuesday 13th with the Twanguero and salmantinos groups Mr Blues and Rockin ‘Hellfire. On Wednesday 14th, there will be a Country Festival with two scenarios: Elio Antonio de Nebrija Park and Plaza Mayor. Dead Bronco, Redemption Colts and Babe Face Nelson have been chosen to perform at the Plaza Mayor, as from 9pm.
The final note will be performed by David de Maria on Thursday 15th.
Have you already booked? what are you waiting for? In Salamanca Suite Studios we will be delighted to welcome you to enjoy as a salmatin@ this great festival.
If you have any doubt, we leave here the full program.
Happy weekend!
